About Devabhasha

A Sanskrit renaissance, one classroom at a time.

Devabhasha began in a single Lucknow classroom in 2003 and has grown into a conversational Sanskrit curriculum used in schools across ten Indian states. It is an imprint of Integral Publishers, Lucknow.

Our founder

Mrs. Anjali Jaipuria

Anjali Jaipuria is an educationist with a vision for fundamental change in the Indian educational system. She is a pioneer of consciousness-based education, integrating Indian knowledge systems with modern pedagogy, and combines her love for Vedic wisdom with the economic, social and political needs of today.

An alumna of Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi (Economics), she studies Sri Aurobindo and The Mother's evolutionary work, Integral Yoga and educational reform, the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. She has been teaching the Bhagavad Gita, the Isha Upanishad and Sri Aurobindo's sonnets since 2014, and is an international speaker on education, spirituality, Integral Yoga and Indian philosophy.

With the help of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, she created Devabhasha — a conversational Sanskrit curriculum introduced in 2003 as the third language, from pre-primary to Grade 8.

Sanskrit scholar and curriculum designer. Between 2006 and 2012, Prof. Mishra developed the Devabhasha series for Integral Publishers — grounding it in root sounds, oral practice and stories that carry philosophical weight without losing the joy of a child's classroom.

Sanskrit teaching begins

Seth M. R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow introduces Sanskrit as part of its curriculum under Founder Patron Anjali Jaipuria.

2006–2012

Curriculum developed

The Devabhasha Conversational Sanskrit curriculum is meticulously developed by Prof. Sampadananda Mishra for Integral Publishers.

2012

Devabhasha launched

The curriculum is formally launched for schools, covering Class 1 through Class VIII.

2015

Integral Publishers registered

The publisher receives the ISBN prefix 978-93-85293 from RRRNAI, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Devabhasha is used at 58 Seth M. R. Jaipuria franchise schools and 15+ independent partners including Sri Aurobindo International School Hyderabad, Gyankriti, Auro School, Matri Kiran, Isai Ambaville and Ved Dhara.

Sister initiatives

Navsrijan

Founded in 2010 by Anjali Jaipuria — an English-medium school for children on the margins of poverty, imparting the same education as Seth M. R. Jaipuria School to 340 students today.
