Sri Aurobindo gives us the key to studying Sanskrit from a different point of view. In his unfinished work 'The Origins of Aryan Speech' he gave us the principles and direction for further study — showing an equal regularity, an equal reign of fixed process on the psychological side, in the determining of the relation of particular sense to particular sound.

The Mother saw Sanskrit as the natural national language of India — a language whose sounds are meaningful, and whose learning could be systematised so every Indian child grows up with access to their spiritual heritage. Her collaboration with Sri Aurobindo shaped the pedagogical vision that Devabhasha follows.

Educationist, philosopher, and long-serving advisor to the Government of India on curriculum and values in education. His work on integral education directly informs the Devabhasha approach of embedding Sanskrit in play, story, mantra and shloka rather than in grammar drills alone.
